If this is a question you continue to ask yourself, then here are some things that might help you make a decision.  Yes it is true that a night table is not necessary in a baby nursery.  After all, your baby is a baby, and he/she will not be using it any time soon.  But the night table is about convenience for YOU.  At night when you are in your rocking chair/glider (we sell these beautiful, modern rockers), it can be very convenient to have a night stand next to you with a soft lighted lamp and a bottle nearby.  If you do not have a glider, you still may want a night table next to your crib with a lamp nearby.  And, as mentioned above, you could place the bottle there for feeding purposes.  Buying the night table early on gives you one less thing to think about as the child gets bigger and you need to think about adding pieces for his/her room.  Moreover, if you purchased a convertible crib, well then there you go mommy, the room is already coming together nicely!

Billie orderd a crib,dresser, hutch, and night table all in Black Stain from the Bumble Bee Collection.

My wife and I bought an enchantment crib for our daughter a year ago at BUY BUY Baby in NYC.  We love this crib for its safety and strength.  We also have a weekend home in Kinderhook, NY 12106 about 2 hours north of New York City.  To save cost (big mistake!) we purchased a white crib from a department store and had it shipped to our Kinderhook house.  Subsequently, not only did the crib come slightly damaged but we found that the paint chipped off.

Our daughter seems to be more comfortable falling asleep in her MHC crib during the week in NYC and will not go down easy in the weekend house resulting in her biting and chewing on the white crib’s rails.  To top it off, she apparently had ingested some paint chips which caused her to have a mild allergic reaction.  This is more than you need to know, however, we called the Scarsdale Buy Buy Baby store to see if they could deliver a new Enchantment crib to upstate NY and the answer was “No”.

As you can imagine, I am throwing out the white crib and we have to get another Enchantment crib for our daughter.  I see that you don’t have any retailers in the Albany area.  Is there anything that we can do?
